I approach weddings with a documentary mindset first and a posed approach second. Of course we’ll get the important portraits and family photos, but the heart of your gallery will always be the real moments the stuff you didn’t even realize was happening. The hugs from your grandparents, your friends tearing up during speeches, the chaos on the dance floor, the quiet moments you share when everything finally slows down for a second.

What does second shot mean?

 

Second shooting means I was hired by another photographer to assist and capture the wedding day from additional perspectives and angles. While I was not the lead photographer hired directly by the couple, these are still real weddings, real moments, and fully my images captured with my camera, my settings, and edited in my signature style.

What sets you apart from other photographers?

I may not have 10+ years in the industry, but what I do have is a deep understanding of my camera, lighting, and how to adapt quickly in unplanned situations. I know my settings inside and out, I’m confident using flash, and I know how to work with difficult lighting whether that’s a dark reception hall, harsh midday sun, cloudy weather, or those weird mixed lighting situations venues love to have. I walk into your day prepared for all of it. My focus is making sure your memories are captured intentionally, consistently, and beautifully no matter what the environment looks like. On top of that, I care more about the experience and the story than just delivering “pretty photos.” I want your gallery to actually feel like your wedding day when you look back on it years from now.

How do you keep our photos safe?

Your wedding photos are backed up from the moment I start shooting. I use a dual-slot camera, which means every image is automatically being saved to two SD cards at the same time. So if one card were to ever corrupt or fail, there is already a second copy there immediately.

After your wedding, I back everything up onto my computer and I also keep the original files on the SD cards until your full gallery has been successfully delivered. Your images are never living in just one place.

I also always bring a backup camera body with me on wedding days in the rare case my main camera were to malfunction. Weddings are a once-in-a-lifetime event, so having backup equipment and multiple layers of protection is something I take very seriously.

Do you help with the timeline?

Yes — I will help put together a photo timeline that coordinates with your overall wedding day timeline so we can make sure there’s enough time for everything that’s important to you photo-wise. That being said, I am not a wedding coordinator, so I’m not the person fully planning, directing, or managing the flow of the entire day. My role is more focused on documenting your wedding as it naturally unfolds and guiding you through portraits.

Do you show full galleries before booking?

Yes! While I don’t post every single photo from a wedding publicly, I’m always happy to share a look into 1–2 smaller wedding galleries before booking. This helps you get a better feel for how I document a full day beyond just the highlights you see on social media.


Keep in mind that the galleries I currently share may not include as many photos as your package would, as most weddings I’ve covered or assisted with so far have only been 3–4 hour wedding days. Even so, they’ll still give you a good idea of my storytelling approach, editing style, and how I capture a wedding day from start to finish.
