FAQ

how long do sessions last?

I don’t sell my sessions by time, because every story unfolds differently. On average, we’ll spend about 40–60 minutes shooting together, but there’s no strict time limit.

Some sessions flow quickly and others take a little longer—especially with kids who might need time to warm up or families who want to explore and settle in. Sometimes that looks like 30 minutes, sometimes closer to an hour and a half, and both are completely okay.

My goal is never to rush the process, but to give you space for real moments to happen naturally. Every session is different, and I stay until we’ve captured your story the way it’s meant to be told.

What locations do you recommend for a couples or portrait session?

Once your deposit is paid, I can send over a location guide so you can browse different spots and see real examples of sessions I’ve photographed there. You’re also welcome to scroll through my Instagram or portfolio to get a feel for different areas and find something that catches your eye.

My biggest recommendation, though, is always to choose a place that means something to you. Whether that’s somewhere you already spend time together, a favorite little spot, or just a location that feels like you, it makes the session feel more natural and your photos even more meaningful.

FAQ

how do i order prints?

I always recommend ordering your prints through ProCam (or a professional lab) I will provide a print release if needed. They provide high-quality, true-to-color prints that are both beautiful and budget-friendly, so your images look exactly the way they were intended. And you are supporting local!

While it may be tempting to print through places like CVS or Walmart, those labs often don’t have accurate color calibration, which can cause your photos to look different than they do in your gallery sometimes dramatically.

Are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?

Travel is included within 30 miles of Cincinnati. After that, a small travel fee will apply depending on the location.

I also have a few bucket list locations that I’d absolutely love to shoot at, so in some cases I may be willing to waive travel fees—just reach out and ask!

For my Northern Ohio / Toledo area clients, I typically make 1–2 trips up that way each year. Booking during those travel dates is the best way to avoid additional fees and make the most of those scheduled trips.

FAQ

what makes you stand out as a photographer?

A huge factor for me is communication. I don’t just show up on your session day I provide a full experience leading up to it. From planning with you directly, to sending detailed questionnaires that help me learn who you are and what you’re looking for, I make sure nothing is left to guesswork. You’ll also receive helpful guides with everything you need, like parking details, where to meet, outfit recommendations, and anything else that helps your session feel easy and stress-free.

Beyond that, consistency is something I take a lot of pride in. No matter the lighting, location, or conditions, I can confidently say your gallery will always reflect what you see in my work. I know my settings, I know how to work with harsh midday sun just as well as glowing sunset or low-light receptions, and I know how to adjust in the moment so your photos stay true to my style every time.

do you offer extended family sessions?

Yes—I do offer extended family sessions, and they’re priced on a case-by-case basis depending on your needs, group size, and how many different family combinations you’d like captured.

Extended family sessions start at $500, and in most cases they stay at that base rate. It’s very rare for them to go above $500 unless you’re adding a studio rental or you have a very large group (50+ people).

Because every family is different, I’ll work with you ahead of time to plan out exactly what you’re wanting so we can make sure everything flows smoothly and everyone is included.
